  • Msichana Tai Provides Batik and Soap-Making Training for Girls

As part of its commitment to advancing girls’ economic empowerment, Msichana Tai conducted practical training sessions on batik production and soap-making for girls in the community, equipping them with essential skills for self-reliance and income generation.

The training provided hands-on experience in producing marketable products, enabling participants to explore entrepreneurship opportunities and develop small-scale income-generating activities. Through this initiative, girls gained not only technical skills but also basic knowledge in business management, creativity, and product development.

In addition, the program contributed to building the confidence of the participants, inspiring them to utilize their skills to improve their livelihoods and support their families. Many of the girls expressed strong motivation to start their own small businesses following the training.

This initiative forms part of Msichana Tai’s broader strategy to ensure that girls are equipped not only with formal education but also with practical life skills that empower them to overcome economic and social challenges.

  • Msichana Tai Advances Girls’ Empowerment Through Training Center Launch and International Women’s Day Engagement

In March 2026, Msichana Tai Organization marked two major milestones in advancing girls’ empowerment and strengthening its institutional presence in Mwanza Region.

The organization officially launched the construction of the Msichana Tai Training Center in Kahumulo Ward, Sengerema District through a foundation stone-laying ceremony attended by government leaders, development partners, and community members. This new facility is envisioned as a transformative hub that will provide adolescent girls and young women with access to life skills education, entrepreneurship training, and leadership development opportunities. Once completed, the center will significantly expand safe and structured learning spaces, particularly for girls from rural communities.

In parallel, Msichana Tai actively participated in the regional International Women’s Day 2026 celebrations held at Nyamhongolo Grounds, Ilemela District. The event provided a high-level advocacy platform to promote girls’ rights, raise awareness on gender-based violence, and strengthen engagement with government institutions and stakeholders. Notably, the celebrations also marked the regional launch of the National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children (MTAKUWWA), reinforcing policy commitment to the protection and empowerment of women and girls.

These strategic engagements have strengthened Msichana Tai’s visibility, deepened partnerships with government and development actors, and expanded opportunities for collaboration and resource mobilization. They also reaffirm the organization’s commitment to building sustainable systems that empower girls to lead, thrive, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
